vermicon AG develops innovative products for the rapid detection and analysis of micro-organisms in food, drinks and water.

Using modern scientific technologies vermicon revolutionises the detection of bacteria, fungi and unicellular organisms. The VIT product line was launched in 2001 and includes several rapid-tests for the precise and very fast detection of bacteria in food, drinks and water. The ScanVIT product line was launched at the beginning of 2004 allowing fast detection and quantification of the bacteria. The product lines are based on vermicon identification technology (VIT), an innovative gene probe technology. Programmed gene probes penetrate the bacteria and illuminate them from the inside, thereby allowing the bacteria to be visualised. The product range is continually being expanded.
